Press release for Model-Ships.co.uk

Dated: 3 April 2006

A new website selling custom built model ships has been launched this month by Premier Ship Models (www.premiershipmodels.com) , the UK model ship specialists that has supplied high quality scale models to national museums and TV production companies, including the BBC.

The new site can be found at www.model-ships.co.uk and it incorporates a range of user-friendly features such as searching model ships by price range, type of ship models (Classic Yachts, Historical Ships, J Classes etc), total price calculations, on line special offers, multi currencies and more.

The new web site has over 300 model boats, which are classified by the size of the model boat, and the business is already attracting more custom orders, as well as ganing a reputation for producing wooden ship models at the high end of the market.

Amongst the latest custom orders are:

3 foot custom model ship of the Bergensfjord

2 foot custom model ship of the Flower Class Corvette HMS Montbretia

Museum wooden model ship of the Cutty Sark and Soleil Royale

Museum model of the world famous HMS Victory to be showcased in client’s corporate booth at Silverstone (the home of Formula 1 Racing).

Museum model of the HMS Beagle, to be featured in the forthcoming Darwin anniversary.

The business has gained a reputation as a restorer of antique ship models, and a choice supplier of quality display cases.

In the very near future, the Model Ships website will also feature ship model kits and r/c model boats in response to on-going client requests. The company will also provide clients with the facility to build the model ships kits on their behalf.

Ends.

Press Release April 2005

Premier Ship Models is proud to announce its successful venture into the United Arab Emirates (UAE) market.

We took part in two exhibitions, namely the Exclusive Interior Design & Furniture (IFEX) & the Dubai International Boat Show, sponsored by the UK Trade & Investment Group to assist UK International businesses enter the Middle East.

The first exhibition (IFEX) was part of the British Contractor’s Furnishing Association and held in Abu Dhabi in February 2005. Established four years ago, the exhibition is exclusively for high-end interior design exhibitors across the globe attracting visitors across the Middle East.

His Highness Sheikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nayhan, a member of the UAE Royal family, officially opened the exhibition.

We had the honour of His Highness Sheikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nayhan accompanied by Her Majesty’s Ambassador Richard Makepeace visit our stand. Our Royal visitor was most interested in our ship models and complimented us on the workmanship of our ship models.

We were delighted the British Embassy had organised a reception for the UK exhibitors to meet a network of potential clients.

The exhibition was both a success, in terms of establishing new clients from the Interior Design industry in the UAE, and in terms of sales at the show.

We are proud to say that our ship models can now be found in the Royal Palaces in the region, which truly reflects our emphasis on producing premium model ships for our discerning customers.

The second exhibition (Dubai International Boat Show) was held at the Dubai Marina in March 2005, as part of the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce UK Trade delegation.

The exhibition attracted exhibitors from 30 countries. Commenting on the success of the show, Helal Saeed Khalfan Al Marri, Director General of Dubai World Trade Centre said, “This has been another successful boat show for us. In fact, this year has seen new benchmarks in exhibitor numbers, visitor turnout and business deals. With this, we believe that Dubai International Boat Show has further secured its position as the definitive event of its kind in the Middle East, Asia and Northern Africa regions.”

Our company received a substantial number of sales enquiries for custom made ship models from existing exhibitors, boat manufacturers and individual clients.

Our first sale at the exhibition was made an hour before the exhibition was due to be officially opened by HH Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

As part of our marketing campaign for our company to be recognised in the UAE, we officially presented a model boat of the ‘Victory 7 Power Boat’ to Mr Khalfan Hareb, Managing Director of the Victory Team, and a ship model of a ‘Racing Dhow’ to Mr Saeed Hareb, Managing Director of the Dubai International Marine Club.

The presentation was captured by the Press and TV and the video will be on our website shortly.

We are now working through the extensive lists of sales leads and contacts from both exhibitions, and look forward to exhibiting next year.

Our next exhibitions in the UK will be the International Festival of the Seas in June 2005 (which commemorates Nelson’s bi-centennial), and the Southampton Boat Exhibition in September 2005.

We are currently looking at further overseas exhibitions, namely the Monaco Boat Show and the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.
