Re : SUPPLY of 5 HISTORIC SHIP MODELS FOR HONG KONG's MARITIME MUSEUM.
This letter is to serve as notice of my Company's appreciation of the work carried out by Premier Ship Models Ltd regarding the design, construction and delivery of five model ships for a project Rich Creation International Ltd has to fit out the currently 'in-progress' installation of Hong Kong's first full Maritime Museum.
We first commissioned Premier Ship Models in early 2004 for a very urgent delivery on custom making model ships of the Batavia and San Felipe Galleons. This then increased to additional orders of a further two model ships of the Borobodur and Perahu vessels and lastly, late in 2004, a Singalese model sailing boat.
The entire project continued to undergo many design changes and even resulted in the change of size/scale of the Batavia. All accommodated without problem by Premier Ship Models. They worked very professionally and did significant research on the later commissioned model ships as our client had little information.
Constant delays and our clients change of mind on needs, finishes, ageing of the ship models etc added complexities to already difficult tasks, but in the end we received on time excellent ship models, highly detailed and fine finishing. The shipping and packing was excellent, and all 5 model ships received after a near 3 week journey by sea were without damage.
We found Rashid and his staffs service to be very helpful, timely and professional in every respect. We will and hope to use them again on other projects and further commissions for this Museum as it expands and creates new displays. The general quality, service and reliability has proved its worth in using them over less expensive options, but in saying that we still find them to be highly competitive and value for money. We would recommend them to any other prospective client for the provision of high quality Maritime model ships.
Best regards,

RICH CREATION INTERNATIONAL LTD.
HONG KONG.
A series of model ships produced for Rich Creation International Limited of Hong Kong, for their own end client (Hong Kong Museum). The museum opened in August 2005.
We provided our client with a complete research service on the history and design of the ship models, including sourcing of plans and drawings.
The client wanted an antique look, to fit in with the surroundings of the museum.
Finally, the client was provided with pictures throughout the project in order to check on progress and sign off on their ship models.
The San Felipe was a 17th
century Spanish ship. The ship was heavily armed with 108 cannons because it
was launched during war with both the British and French. This vessel was one
of the galleons that carried wealth from South America and the Caribbean back
to Spain. In an epic battle against the British in 1705, the ship sank to the
bottom of the ocean filled with treasure.
The vessel was among the most ornate with a
sculptured stern and a streamlined design made the ship easier to maneuver in
the sea. The San Felipe is resurrected in our beautiful and intricate model
ships. Premier Ship Models has the San Felipe and over 350 other famous ships
in a variety of sizes and lengths. Choose from small and large sizes in our
silver, gold and platinum ranges.
Our models of the San Felipe and other
vessels are museum quality replicas of this renowned and historic ship. In
addition to being the perfect addition to any personal collection, the platinum
model of the San Felipe is on display in the Hong Kong Maritime Museum and was
chosen for its superior quality craftsmanship.
