Specification of the model:
The
present model is an exact copy of "Pollox" made from authentic
materials: walnut, pear-wood, metal,
cotton.
The model consists of around 6,000 details!
For
example, every gun has 90 details.
All parts are hand-made, no castings as well
as prefabricated elements are used.
The model is mounted over a massive elm
wood base.
Making
the model took about 2,400 working hours.
History of the ship
This
is a model of an English cutter in a scale 1:75. At first cutters were used for
illegal trade in the Channel. Later the Royal Navy and the Custom Service
built the same type of ships aiming to stop the smuggling.
Cutters have
been used like supporting ships, for postal service etc.
